Dr Derek Stringer

National Director of GNB

Dr. Derek Stringer comes from Enfield, North London, and traces his Christian beginnings back to a Christian youth club that he attended. “The message I heard at the Sunday Church services all began to make sense when I was in my midteens,” writes Derek. “When I was twenty-one, I sensed the call of God upon my life to preach and teach about Christ. I studied over a number of years achieving a Doctorate in Theology.”

Married to Pauline, they have two grown-up daughters, Tracy and Clare. Derek’s path of ministry took him through an interdenominational organisation visiting schools and colleges. During this time many international opportunities for preaching and teaching were extended to him. Derek has pastored churches, lectured at Bible schools and spoken at many Bible conventions around the world. In March 2004, Derek became the National Director and Bible Teacher for GNB.

Derek is familiar with radio and television. Through the years he has had many and varied opportunities to use the media as a tool for the gospel both in the U.K. and abroad. Derek continues to have an extensive international Bible teaching ministry, which is broad and varied. He has written several books, most recently Over Conquer and Great Bible Questions

Derek writes, “I thank God for Good News Broadcasting and the many thousands of people who hear the Word of God because of the daily radio programmes we produce. It's great to be touching the world and going to places where only radio can.”
